 Bantaro is the leader of the |
| Ruffians ("Unrefined") gang of |
| three at Hontsuru Jr. High. But |
| being a leader doesn't mean he's |
| the brightest. In fact, he is |
| probably the least intelligent |
| of the Ruffians. His lack of |
| intelligence is compensated by |
| his strong passion. Since the |
| first day that he saw Jiyu |
| riding her bike, he fell in love |
| and being in love means that he |
| would do anything to protect |
| her, including impulsively |
| beating up anyone who seems to |
| be a threat to Jiyu, like her |
| father or Koinosuke chasing her. |

| Bantaro is in the same class as |
| Jiyu, so he is never too far |
| away from her. However, he |
| always seems to see Shiro |
| hitting on her before he can and |
| that annoys him a lot. |
