 Jiyu is a new 8th grader in |
| class 2B at Hontsuru Jr. High |
| School and is the daughter of |
| Sai and Makoto (deceased). Since |
| she and her dad live alone she |
| has many responsibilities in the |
| house, including cooking, which |
| she enjoys. While she seems to |
| be a normal 15 year-old, she is |
| far from typical. When she puts |
| on the heart-shaped eyepatch, |
| she becomes the successor of |
| Yagyu Jubei. Jiyu doesn't like |
| this at first because she just |
| wants to be herself. However, as |
| time goes by, she realizes that |
| she has to fulfill her role. |

| Secondly, she is a bit |
| precocious, in the physical |
| sense. This is what the guys in |
| the story first see, many of who |
| fall in love immediately because |
| of her looks. However, Jiyu is |
| extremely naive to this fact. In |
| addition to being forgetful, she |
| never fully realizes why so many |
| people are interested in her. |
| However, she has a good heart |
| and treats everyone who likes |
| her very well. |
