 Sai is a single parent and is |
| Jiyu's father. He currently |
| works as an independent writer |
| of period plays but has worked |
| for an employer before. He |
| became a freelance writer |
| because of the death of his |
| wife. That event convinced him |
| that he should stay at home more |
| often and be with his family, |
| which now only consists of Jiyu. |
| Because he feels obligated to |
| time with Jiyu, he can sometimes |
| be overbearing, including |
| following her to school and |
| embarrassing her. Since the |
| death of his wife, he's been |
| longing for a companion. When he |
| sees Mikage, who looks a lot |
| like his previous wife, he falls |
| in love with her immediately. |
| However, he is still doubtful of |
| himself. On the flip side, Maro |
| has a crush on him. |

| Dark Sai appears in the final |
| episode when he allows the |
| spirit of Taiko Daiyu into his |
| body. Although his body is |
| possessed by Taiko Daiyu, he is |
| still able to have some control |
| over himself. |
