Episode 1: The Birth of Yagyu Jubei II

Yagyu Jubei's father, Lord Tajima had eliminated the other fighting schools in order to make his the dominant one in the country. Obviously, not many people like this, one of whom was Ryujoji Daigo, head of the Ryujoji School. In order to seek revenge and win back respect, he challenges the elderly Yagyu Jubei. Yagyu Jubei collapses, but not before defeating Ryujoji Daigo. On his deathbed, Yagyu Jubei tells his servant, Koinosuke Odago to find his successor who he describes as "A plump, bouncy, bon bons..."

Introduction

About 300 years later, we see a young girl, Nanohana Jiyu heading off to school. Her father, Nanohana Sai wants to go with her to school, but is overly dressed. Jiyu, knowing this could be embarrassing, rides off, leaving her dad to chase after her.

As she is speeding along the road, she rides by Sanbonmatsu Bantaro and his two primate underlings, Kozaru and Ozaru (The Ruffians). Bantaro falls in love with her immediately, but then sees a strange man chasing her. Thinking that Jiyu is being harassed, they catch up to Sai and beat him up.

After a while, Jiyu realizes she has lost her father, but she has also lost herself in the bamboo forest between her house and the school. Ryujoji appears and falls in love immediately too. They greet each other with Jiyu saying he can call her Jubei because that's what her dad calls her. He offers to take her to school. Meanwhile, Koinosuke appears from behind the bamboo and after a visual inspection, he realizes he has found Yagyu Jubei's successor.

At school, the Ruffians march along and see Jiyu with Shiro. Bantaro's thinks his first love is finished. Shiro leads her to the principal's office. As she is introducing herself, her father enters, to Jiyu's surprise. After introducing himself, he takes quick leave. In room 2B, Bantaro is wallowing in his sorrow, but it turns out Jiyu is a new student in his class. The teacher, Ozaki Koshiro is introduced and we see Koinosuke waiting outside.

Intermission

The other new students, Shoko Maruyama (Maro) and Toyama Sachi (Sachi) introduce themselves to Jiyu. Maro suggests that they form the "New Student Lovelies" but Sachi opposes. Bantaro tries to use this opportunity to introduce himself to Jiyu, but ends up making an ass of himself.

After class, Maro wants to go to the dessert shop to celebrate the new trio but Jiyu is worried about her father so she declines and goes back home. Oh her way back, she bumps into her father who has fallen asleep in the woods. At the same time, Koinosuke appears and introduces himself to Jiyu. But before he can finish, Jiyu has already walked away carrying her dad on her shoulders.

Koinosuke catches up with her and persuade her to wear the eye-patch. She does and the images of Yagyu Jubei and the successor, Yagyu Jubei II appear. But after Koinosuke "takes leave," she throws the eye-patch away. Koinosuke instantly gets it and tells her not to throw it away.

At a mysterious house, we see Koshiro, Jiyu's teacher, being ordered to eliminate Jubei II. Koshiro then rushes to the woods where he sees Jiyu, his father and Koinosuke. Koshiro demands the eye-patch. When he almost takes off Sai's head, Jiyu gets angry and puts it on. She transforms into Jubei II and whoops ass.

When Koshiro wakes up, he realizes he wants to be a singer and leaves. It is almost evening now and Koinosuke who is carrying Sai walks home with Jiyu.
