Episode 2: Falling in Love with the Enemy
A new anti-Jubei henchman arrives at the mysterious hut and says he will...
Introduction
Koinosuke is sitting in a lawn chair on the Nanohana's patio about finally finding Jiyu. A blob appears and slithers to the chair. It is none other than Sai, having writer's block and he kicks Koinosuke out because he needs to lie down and think. Koinosuke goes back into the house and sees Jiyu cooking. As she is making her Jubei-yaki, Koinosuke confides in her about his concerns that she is Jubei II. She ignores him.
When she leaves for school, Koinosuke remembers that he forgot to check if Jiyu had the eye-patch. So he runs out and catches up with her. Upon his inquiry, he finds out that the eye-patch is in her room. He runs back, but Sai tells him that even lowly servants know that they shouldn't enter girl's room. So Koinosuke runs out again to ask Jiyu for permission to enter her room.
The Bantaro decides he needs to bike to class in order to make small talk with Jiyu. So he borrowed a three-seat bike from his parents to ride to school. The other two riders are Ozaru and Kozaru. It turns out that Shiro is also riding a bike, probably for the same reason. Then, Jiyu speeds by them, with Koinosuke chasing after her. Remembering the situation yesterday, they speed up to catch Koinosuke.
In the heat of the chase, Bantaro loses sight of what's in front of him and wrecks his bike in a tree. Shiro catches up, pulls out his wooden sword, and tells Koinosuke to back off. Koinosuke does so. Shiro then walks with Jiyu to school. They engage in a conversation about Koinosuke, but his eyes wander. The walk past the Ruffians and Bantaro is angry that Shiro and Jiyu are together. Three strange girls named Otome, Ocho and Kocho appear and ask Bantaro who Jiyu is. They leave quickly after.
Intermission
Jiyu has a new teacher, named Tessai Hariu and strangely enough, he looks like the henchman at the beginning of the episode. The teacher calls out Jiyu's name first, which is a bit strange because her name is not at the top of the attendance sheet. Upon seeing her, he falls in love. Meanwhile, the Ruffians finally come to school. They arrive late because of their busted bike.
As the teacher leaves, he thinks what a cute girl Jiyu is and that she cannot be Jubei II. He then hears all Jiyu's friends call her Jubei and gives up the love because he concludes that she is his enemy, Jubei II. He tells Jiyu to meet him at 4pm at the pine grove on the beach. Shiro tells her to me him at the same place at the same time. And Bantaro, holding a grudge against Shiro, also tells him to meet him there.
At the grove, she sees her teacher holding a sword, preparing to fight her. Jiyu tries to convince him she's not Jubei II, but Koinosuke, who is next to her, says otherwise. When the teacher points his sword at her, she gives Koinosuke permission to enter her room and get the eye-patch. When he goes to enter her room, Sai is staring at him again, saying he can't enter her room. He punches him and gets the eye-patch. But as he is running off, he shrivels up. Sai refreshes him by dumping water, but then Sai collapses underneath a tree.
The Ruffians and Shiro who followed Koinosuke to the Nanohana house and see that Sai is under a tree. Recognizing this is the guy who was chasing Jiyu yesterday, they give him a few pummels. Shiro pummels him too. Meanwhile, Koinosuke brings the eye-patch to Jiyu and she transforms. She whoops ass, but the Ruffians and Shiro see this.
In the mysterious house, there are two new figures that answer to the mysterious person seeking vengeance on Jubei. Back to Shiro, he is convinced he saw Jubei II. The teacher wakes up a bit later, looks at the ocean, and says he'll start living his life for love. On the way home, they see the busted up Sai and Koinosuke carries him home as Jiyu walks her bike.
