Episode 3: Men's Hearts Were Swaying

Shiro's DreamsShiro is staying up late because of his conflicting thoughts about his love for Jiyu and his hereditary dislike of Jubei II. But he gives up and realizes that he has written a ton of love letters. When he goes back to sleep, his mom comes in saying it's already morning.

Introduction

Not the Eye-patchAt the Nanohana household, Sai is not starting his day off pleasantly. Meanwhile, Koinosuke is pestering Jiyu about bringing the eye-patch. She says she has it and whips out a breathing mask, which looks kinda similar to an eye-patch. Thinking that it is the eye-patch, Koinosuke goes and finishes his breakfast. But then he realizes he's been tricked, so he goes chasing after her.

'Bursting' with LoveAs the Ruffians are walking to school, Kozaru and Ozaru discuss how Bantaro got busted for crashing the bike. Bantaro then announces that he has written a love letter for Jiyu. However, Shiro walks by and Bantaro sees that he is literally exploding with love letters. Then, Jiyu and Koinosuke breeze by both the Bantaro and Shiro as they are trying to offer their letters to her.

After a while, Jiyu stops suddenly and tells Koinosuke that she doesn't want the eye-patch anymore. After some talking, she gives it him and bikes off to school.

Intermission

The Search for Jubei IIAt school, they get two new teachers, Kanzaki Ugoro (skinny) and Kanzaki Sanoyo (fat). The students wonder what's going on. Outside, Koinosuke is reflecting on his past 300 years. He then shrivels up again. Inside, Bantaro is nervously thinking of giving the letter to Jiyu and Shiro, in his class, is thinking about how to deal with Jiyu and the fact that she's Jubei II.

Love TriangleAfter class, Bantaro is determined to give Jiyu the letter, but Shiro approaches her first. Jiyu first asks him why there are new teachers, but Shiro tells her that they should go to the Bamboo forest where they first met. After hearing this, Bantaro is furious. Otome is also watching the situation from afar. What an interesting love "triangle" they got there.

As they are leaving, they see Maro and Sachi. Maro calls Jiyu "Jubei" and that freaks out Shiro. But Jiyu reminds him that his dad calls her Jubei. Jiyu also tells Maro that she can't make it to the dessert shop today either and leaves with Shiro. Bantaro follows them to the forest.

He Cut Me Off!In the forest, she repeats the question and Shiro states he doesn't know what's going on. Then, the two teachers appear in Samurai outfits and challenge her. She tries to tell them she is no longer Jubei II, but they don't believe her and start attacking. While Shiro is helping her dodge the blades, he asks if the eye-patch changes her to Jubei II. She reluctantly says "maybe." As Ugoro is charging at them, Bantaro pops up in front of him, thus knocking him down, and tries to present Jiyu with the love letter. The two attackers ignore Bantaro. Shiro then tells Bantaro to get the eye-patch, which he happily agrees to do.

Double SwordThe Ruffians run around aimlessly looking for the eye-patch. They deduce that Koinosuke have it and just at that moment, they trip over his shriveled up body. They return to the fight. As Bantaro is presenting the eye-patch, Ugoro slashes him in the back. Jiyu becomes pissed and puts on the eye-patch. She whoops ass with the help of Shiro.

Not ShiroBack at the mysterious hut, Shiro's name is mentioned and then lightening lights up the hut. It's Shiro! Wait, it's not. The hair is combed in the other direction. Meanwhile, as the storm approaches, Shiro, Jiyu, and the remaining Ruffians (carrying Bantaro) run to Shiro's house. The rain washes Koinosuke's body away.
