Complete Plot Summary

300 years ago
Yagyu Jubei, a very famous swordsman dies and asks his assistant, Odago Koinosuke to give an eye-patch to Jubei's successor. That someone is described as "A plump, bouncy, bon bons..."

Day 1 (Thursday*)
Nanohana Jiyu is a new student at Hontsuru Jr. High. Because she's rather cute, she wins the hearts of a few students in her class, namely Ryujoji Shiro and Sanbonmatsu Bantaro, the head of a group called the Ruffians. At school, she and the two other new students, Shoko Maruyama (Maro) and Toyama Sachi (Sachi) form a group called the New Student Lovelies. When she comes home from school, she encounters Koinosuke, who gives her the eye-patch. With the eye-patch, she transforms into Jubei II. She doesn't want it, however. But then, Jiyu's teacher comes and attacks her. She transforms and wins the fight.

Day 2 (Friday)
Koinosuke is now part of the family. He wants Jiyu to take the eye-patch everywhere, but today, she leaves it at home. At school, another person has replaced Jiyu's teacher. This teacher falls in love with Jiyu, but quickly realizes she is the enemy. He challenges her and Jiyu wins after she transforms. Shiro and Bantaro see this victory.

Day 3 (Saturday)
Shiro loves Jiyu, but deep down, he hates Jubei. At school, Jiyu's class gets another teacher, actually 2 this time. Jiyu asks Shiro why this is so, but Shiro asks her to go to the woods with her. In the woods, the new teachers attack Jiyu and Shiro. Shiro finds out that she is the successor to Yagyu Jubei. She transforms and beats up the new enemies. However, Bantaro is hurt because he got caught in the fight.

That night, Bantaro is recovering at Shiro's place since Shiro's mom is a nurse. After he is healed, Bantaro and the Ruffians head off to Jiyu's house to give her a love letter. But there, they see a strange character trying to kill Jubei II. After a little scuffle, Shiro appears and tells Jiyu to use the eye-patch and transforms. She beats the enemy. Shiro tells her that it's her responsibility to save the world.

Day 4 (Sunday)
Tsumura Tenryo (Mick) and Tsumura Mikage (Francoise) are the new enemies after Jiyu. They want the eye-patch. While Nanohana Sai (Jiyu's father) and Jiyu are out on a walk, they see Maro and Sachi. Maro has a crush on Sai and wants to take them to the dessert shop, which is closed on Sundays. In the meantime, Mikage is at the Nanohana house rummaging. When she gets discovered, she takes both Koinosuke and Sai hostages. Jiyu gets word of this and goes to free Koinosuke and her father. She defeats both Mick and Francoise.

Day 5 (Monday)
Jiyu has another new teacher. Jiyu goes in great lengths to say that she's Jubei II, but it evokes no reaction, so she knows he's not after her. However, Shiro knows that Jiyu is Jubei and wants to help her fight. He knows that with an eye-patch, her vision is affected. When she refuses to be helped, he challenges her. Koinosuke knows Jiyu's weakness so he is determined to do something about it. That night, Jiyu is looking at the stars when a man appears on the street and yells out a challenge. She goes over there, talks things over, but then gets in a fight. Since she doesn't have a sword with her, she just closes her eyes and uses her armor to repel the attacks. They run away.

Day 6 (Tuesday)
Koinosuke comes back with a mask that has only a hole for her right eye. This is to help her get accustomed to seeing with one eye. She is told that the mask cannot be removed, so she has to wear it to school. Shiro sees this and thinks this is a plan to beat him. At school, Sachi points out that it is removable. Without the mask, she goes to fight Shiro. She doesn't attack Shiro, but Shiro eventually cuts the eye-patch string and the eye-patch falls to the ground. She passes out. Shiro, though, then gets beat up by Ryujoji Hajime, an evil character who has been sending assassins to defeat Jubei II. He picks up the eye-patch.

That night, Sai takes Jiyu to Shiro's place because he hates doctors. Apparently, she is burning up. He takes drastic measures to reduce her body temperatures, which some viewers' think is a bit disturbing. Outside, though, an army of ninja have amassed to defeat Jiyu. Koinosuke and the Ruffians hold them off for a bit, but can't defeat them. Knowing that she doesn't have the eye-patch, she asks her dad how to defeat an army of ninjas. He says they're suckers, so Jiyu uses common household items to dress up as Jubei II. It successfully scares off the attackers.

Day 7 (Wednesday)
In the morning, Shiro wakes up at Jiyu's teacher's house. The teacher says he'll be fine and leaves him for a bit. In the afternoon, there's a rice cake party at the Nanohana house. Mikage comes back to get Jiyu telling her that she needs to continue fighting to save people, because everyone Jubei II defeated is cursed from the curse that makes them want to fight. Sai, however, falls in love with Mikage because she looks like his wife, who passed away. The army of ninjas come to take her away to Hajime, but she agrees without resistance. Hajime ties them up and asks Jiyu what the power of the eye-patch is.

Meanwhile, Shiro wakes up at Jiyu's teachers place. He says Shiro should be fine and that Jiyu is all right too because she was in class. She is at Hajime's place right now, though. So he rushes over to Hajime's place and defends Jiyu. They find out that the spirit of Taiko Daiyu possesses Hajime. Jiyu is freed and transforms. She frees Hajime from Taiko Daiyu. Everything seems fine now. However, when they go home, the same spirit then possesses Shiro.

Day 8 (Thursday)
Hajime is a normal kid now and is part of the Ruffians. Sai is preoccupied with Mikage. Mikage, however, is still a ninja and thinks there is still something wrong. She goes to where Hajime was and finds out that Shiro is now possessed. She gets wounded and Sai takes her home. After fixing her up, Jiyu comes home to see his father think that this woman is his wife. She says no. Then, the possessed Shiro appears at the Nanohana house. Mikage comes out and fights the possessed Shiro, saying that she can take care of it. However, Jiyu feels personally responsibility and goes after them. She changes, but this time she does it in front of her dad, who had no idea she was Jubei II. They go into the woods at night and fight. The possessed Shiro is a tough opponent and the power of the eye-patch is wearing Jiyu down. However, she must still fight. She tells everyone that Jiyu has to remain Jubei II until Taiko Daiyu is defeated.

They fight some more and Jubei II is knocked to the ground. However, Shiro is able to take control of his body for a little bit and this gives Jubei II an opportunity to defeat the possessed Shiro. However, Taiko Daiyu's spirit still exists and as long as it exists, Jiyu cannot come back. Then, Sai tells her to fight him. He summons the spirit of Taiko Daiyu to take over his body. They start fighting again, but Sai is able to call out to Jiyu and have her escape from the spirit of Yagyu Jubei just as he escaped the spirit of Taiko Daiyu. It becomes morning.

Day 9 (Friday)
They have a party at a local dessert shop where everyone in the story celebrates.
