Episode 6: That Voice of Yours Which Changes Me


The episode starts off talking about Arima's perfection…until he falls in love.

Introduction

STAREAfter the first missed date, Arima and Yukino have been seeing each other frequently. As their relationship grows, she realizes he is more beautiful. She comments that he is perfect in every way. However, these are only external traits. She wants to know how he is on the inside. Now it's his turn to reflect turn to reflect on their situation. He says she is a weird person and that he can't really figure her out. But she's cute and intelligent and he likes her anyway. His only gripe is that he has a tough time dealing with her personality complex.

To the beach!It is the end of the semester. Yukino meets Asaba in the classroom. She comments on how he has turned darker. He responds saying that he's been body boarding and will impress the girls at the beach, a man's paradise. He then asks her how her recent date with Arima was. She says they had a great time. When she tells what they plan to do (like go to Disneyland), Asaba says that he wants to do it with them also. She says no and walks away.

Get SeriousAnd then Asaba meets Arima. Asaba tells him that he's going body boarding, but Arima responds saying that it's almost finals and that he has to study. Asaba comments on Arima's frequent dates with Yukino. Arima rebuffs saying that he has studied. Asaba then gets jealous and wants a date with Arima too. Arima tells him to get serious and that he doesn't believe he's that fun to be around.

MeetingArima reminisces a bit and talks about the three months since they first met. The first month he fell in love. The second month they became friends and in the third month, they started going out. Arima thought that he would change after he started dating her, but he hasn't. He is still closed-hearted, shielding his emotions from everyone.

Intermission

Miyazawa HouseAt the Miyazawa home, her brother Hano asks Yukino what she's doing with her boyfriend. Her father comments that it's too young for her. But the family says he's old-fashioned. Everyone in high school dates not. Back to the question, Yukino says they do nothing, but the family isn't happy with the answer. The situation at Arima's house is a lot different. At the dinner table, his parents are reluctant to ask him about Yukino.

Tired from practiceAt school, she doesn't see any other couples around. While Arima is practicing, he sees Yukino and Asaba talking and laughing together. Later, in the classroom, he has some doubts about the relationship and himself. When he wakes up, Yukino is closing the window because it has started to rain. She comments on how cute he is when he sleeps. Since they both don't have umbrellas, they decide to stay at the school a bit longer.

HappyAs they are waiting, they talk a bit. Yukino is as happy as can be, but Arima's lack of self-confidence is creeping into his thoughts. Yukino explains that because she's the eldest sister and has always strived impress people, she's never been able be carefree and so lighthearted. But she can only do that in front of Arima. Arima then grabs her and gives her a big hug. And obviously, it is followed by a kiss.

LighteningBut as their lips meet, a thunder crashes and they break up their embrace in embarrassment. She then starts to hear the song "Pink Ladies, SOS" in her head. Arima is thinking to himself about what he just did. He feels like he wronged her. When they meet again, Arima tries to explain what he just did, but ends up kicking a pail, which lands on Yukino's head. They have a brief laugh and dry off. Yukino tells him that he doesn't have to be so retrained when he's around her. And then they kiss again.

The narrator speaks saying that their past personalities will quickly return to them. It flashes back to both his and her past.

The next day, she meets with Asaba again. They comment on previous night's weather. When Asaba asks about their date on Sunday, Yukino says it'll be fine, rain or shine. When Asaba meets Arima, he says the same thing.
