Lyrics: Watashi no Uta (My Song)

Note: I personally translated these songs from the printed lyrics, so they should be pretty accurate. However, I'm not a native speaker so they might be off somewhat (but I'll do my best! Ganbarimasu!). And until this notice changes, please do not take these lyrics. I'm going to wait a while and review them later for correctness and do not want my "rough drafts" to be posted. I will at some point submit them to other directories like animelyrics.com, but only when I've had a second chance to look at them! Also, please read my romanzi translation guide for romanzi information.

uta o utau toki wa
itsu demo soba ni ita ne
hazukashii kimochi
de mo naze ka na ureshii

The times I sang a song
I was always next to you.
Even with those shy feelings,
I am somehow happy.

hui ni mitsumeatte
syunkan de bukidashita
watashi to anata wa
hinata de zyareru ko neko

Suddenly we're staring at each other and
in an instant we burst into laugher.
You and I are
little kittens who frolick in the sun.

ima wa wasureta uta
togire togire ni nazoreba
PINTO ga au yoo ni
yakusoku shita kotoba

The song that I now forgot,
if I piece it together
results in matching
those promised words.

moo ichido utaoo
itsu de mo itsu made de mo
omoide wa iranai yo
aitai ima sugu ni

Let's sing once more.
Always and until forever.
I don't need memories!
I want to meet you right now.

tomodachi ga iru kara
utaeru uta ga aru to
shiranai de ita watashi
kitto shiawase datta

I have friends so
whenever I have a song I can sing
Without knowing it was me,
I was certainly happy

tomodatachi ga iru kara
utaeru uta ga aru to
kizuita ima no kimochi
anata ni utaitai

I have friends so
whenever I have a song I can sing
The feelings I have now that are saved up.
I want to sing with you.

watashi wa koko ni imasu?
moo ichido aitai

Am I here?
I want to meet you once more.

Translation Notes

  • I'm pretty sure I have the pronouns correct for this song (Japanese doesn't use pronouns such as "he/she/I/you/they/it"), but I'm still not very comfortable with it. I guess it's just inexperience with the language.
