Well, I did something that I said I wouldn't do. I ended up (re-)purchasing Ai yori Aoshi DVD #2 for the first pressing. But I couldn't help it! Serious! On the way to San Diego with my sister, we stopped by Little Tokyo in downtown Los Angeles. I picked up this week's (or rather, the 2 week edition) of Shonen Magazine from Kinokuniya. The bookstore in LA has a lot more anime/manga related merchandise besides books. They were selling Love Hina bags, posters, etc...but bookwise, I think the New York one is still bigger. They also had volumes 3,5,6, and 9 of Ai yori Aoshi, which is something I couldn't find at the New York stores, nor San Jose, but I've already got them on order from Amazon, so I couldn't purchase them.
But I have wanted. They have an Anime Jungle store in Little Tokyo. How evil. They had all the AyA discs so far, all first pressings. #2 was the only one I was missing... I also picked up the soundtrack to Saikano, and was very tempted to pick up the LD to "Ami-chan no Hatsukoi" (Sailormoon), but resisted since I have no way of carrying that back on the airplane flight back.
I finished with buying Chobits manga #5, limited edition with the tin case for storing stuff and a Karekano character guide book.
You know, if Los Angeles didn't have all those cars, traffic problems, and bad smog, I might actually appreciate the city.
