Some people are so rude. I just came back from getting some pizza and was on the elevator to come up. I live on the 8th floor, you see, and apparently, the elevator stopped at the 6th floor as I was coming up. This lady comes in and I ask, "Are you going up?" because usually people on the 6th floor want to go down. She said "Push 1st Floor." I say "oooookaayyy" under my breath and push 1. The door closes and she realizes it's going up. She says "Stop this elevator. Push a floor, let me get off." And so I press 6, then 7, then 8, which was my floor anyway. While we're waiting for the elevator to stop, she scolds me saying that I said "yes" when she asked if this elevator was going down. The only person who asked anything was me. She only commanded that I push the button. And even if she did ask, I would think that I would know where I was going. So I told her that I had asked her, but she stuck by her story saying that I responded affirmative to her question. Whatever. The elevator stops and she gets out. The door closes and then opens again! So I manually push the "close door" button and leave that rude lady behind. And then the elevetor proceeds to go down. Oops, instead of the 7th floor, she got off at the 8th floor, which was my stop and I was going down. Since I had pressed 7th floor before, it stopped on the 7th floor and I got off and walked up the stairs back to the eight floor. On the eighth floor, I see the lady walking around the opposite end of the hallway aimlessly. As I was walking towards the elevator to get to my end of the hallway, she sees me and walks towards me to the elevator too. She then tells me to push the down button. I just ignored her while thinking "screw you, bitch."
I find two things strange with that. If she had pressed the down button on the 6th floor, my elevator would have never stopped. I'm guessing she got impatient waiting and pressed the up button too. Her fault. And then she freaked out when she realized the elevator was going up. Of course, if she had just stuck with the elevator, she would have been going down in no time, after I got off. But she wasted more time panicking over a seemingly small incident that she needed to if she had just rode the thing out. Literally.
