I explored Upper East Side NYC today. Nothing much, I decided that I should go outside sometime despite my determination to finish the web site. I walked outside between 92nd Street and 84th Street and between 1st Ave. and Lexington Ave. There are so many neat stores around here! I first looked for a food place, since it was going to be my brunch (and maybe dinner, but since I'll be going outside again, it probably won't be). A lot of the places I usually frequent in these couple of blocks were crowded, so I just kept on walking until I found a respectable food joint. I love that aspect of NYC. So many choices! I eventually ate at this deli-ish place that had a bunch of "wraps." I had me-self a "Santa Fe" which was pretty much a BBQ chicken wrap. Good stuff.
I then just kept on walking around, poking my head around seeing what stores were there. It turns out that I found ANOTHER Barnes & Noble just 3 or so blocks from the one I usually go to. It was also bigger, I believe because I could see an escalator in there. I then went by the movie theater, and in particular the Lowes with Harry Potter. When I walked in to check up on the times, all I could see around me were kids. Little ankle-biters swarming the whole theater. I looked at the times and, with no surprise, most of the showings were sold out except for the ones that were past the kid's bedtimes. Mind you though, this was at 2pm this afternoon, so I'm sure the thing is sold out for the rest of the night by now. I felt pretty bad for the two other movie theaters here because none had the crowd that the Lowes had. But then again, Lowes probably bid BIG BUCKS to get the movie.
I shall be heading out again now, probably to grab a bite to eat and then to a Barnes & Nobles to see what's new.
Oh, there's supposed to be a meteor shower tomorrow morning. I wish I could see it, but going out at 5am is not a wise idea in the city and there's a ton of ambient light here (for security reasons), so I probably couldn't see it anyway.
