This series in a new series from the two guys who created Kurumi and also requisite reading for me to catch up my Dengeki Daioh subscription. I had guessed that this story had something to do with Alice in Wonderland, and it does to a certain degree (even though in the epilogue, Kaishaku states that they changed the name of the author from Lewis Carroll), but as of this first volume, I can't make out much of the connection.
Unfortunately, there's nothing on the reverse side of the dust jacket. There is, however, a color page and a bonus mini-comic at the end with a little explanation of the story and a preview of the next volume.
1. 桐原有人 (Aruto Kirihara) has been fascinated with the story of Alice and thinks about it all the time, even to the point of writing his story. His little sister who suffers from a bit of a brother-complex, きらは (Kiraha) gets annoyed because she can never get his attention. One night, he sees a girl out in the moonlight who he recognizes as *the* Alice. At school, Aruto seems to have a girl who has a crush on him, キサ (Kisa). However, as she tries to talk to him after school, he spots the girl he saw last night and follows her to the library. There, she reveals herself 有栖川ありす (Alice Alisugawa) and says she's looking for the third, hidden, book of the Alice story. Aruto enthusiastically responds saying that he also wants to read it, but soon finds out how the book is compiled. Kisa comes into the library where they are in a transformed state and challenges Alice who also transforms herself. After a little duel, Alice "unlocks" Kisa's story from within her and pages materialize. By fighting and winning like this, Alice explains, they'll be able to gather the stories for the lost book.
2. Aruto has been spending too much time with Alice, or so Kiraha thinks. She tries her hardest, but can't seem to get his attention away from his beloved Alice. As Alice and Aruto are walking along the street one day, a new enemy appears to defeat Alice. She's revealed to be Kiraha.
3. Kiraha eventually gets defeated and Alice unlocks her story. A quick perusal shows that her brother occupies many of the pages, but Aruto tells Alice not to read it as it's his sister. Alice obeys without hesistation and the three of them now decide to join forces to find more pages of the story.
4. Another one member who possess the power of "Alice" is 篝木キリカ (Kirika Kagarigi), an older student at Aruto's school. After Kiriha and Alice both destroy the office she works in over a slight misunderstanding, Kirika asks for their help in continuing her research into the Alice Syndrome. She also tells them that another quality of the 3 book is that the person who reads it can have their wish come true.
5. Recently, bookstores have been burnt down and another one has just been terrorized. Aruto happens to meet a strange girl tells Aruto that his name "Anderson" and her name is Akane. She seems to also like burning books. Alice senses that sometimes not right and transforms to fight Akane. During their fight, a group of "Alice" police interrupt the battle.
