少年マガ (Shonen Magazine), '04 Vol 11 & ヤングマガ (Young Magazine), '04 Vol. 11
Featured cover girl is 17 (16 when the pictures were taken) year old Mayuko Iwasa. No special bonus comics or anything, but Tsubasa was exceptionally long this week. Negima: ４２時間目 用心棒は新撰組！？ (42nd Hour, Yojimbo is Shinsengumi!?): Kotarou is thoroughly defeated and chibi-Setsuna seals him in his own trap. Negi, Asuna, and Nodoka take a quick respite and Negi apologizes to Nodoka for not telling her beforehand that he's a mage. As chibi-Setsuna is talking, she realizes that something's wrong and suddenly disappears back into her paper form. Aniki tells them that something's happened to the real Setsuna (the one who created chibi). Continuing from three chapters ago, Setsuna is taking Konoka to シネマ村 (Shinema Forest). There, as Setsuna is trying to find the danger she sense, Konoka dresses up in a Kimono and makes Setsuna dress up like a male swordsman. The classmates see this and suspect that there's something going on with them. Suddenly, a mysterious girl appears and challenges Setsuna to a duel over Konoka in half an hour. Futatsuki: ４口目/MK-1 (Fourth Taste/MK-1): Futatsuki is making a killing from his hot-stone-bowl ramen. But then the (new) principal of the school shows up and knowing that he's defeated, decides that the rules set by Hina don't apply and that Hanamaru close regardless of winning or losing. He then challenges Futatsuki to compete in MK, abbreviation for Men-King (Noodle King) competition. After some thought and showing off his skills at saving the kitchen from calamity by preventing a stack of hot bowls from falling into oil (which triggers a flashback), he decides to compete. Tsubasa: ３４ 桜の国 (34, The Country of Sakura): Shaoran defeats the monster that intrudes in their lodgings. The next day, Fye and Shaoran go to city hall where they learn that they can make some money hunting these monsters. It's dangerous, but Shaoran decides to do it and partners up with Kurogane. Fye on the other hand, decides to take the job of obtaining information. But before Kurogane agrees, he reveals that he knows Shaoran is blind in his right eye (first reference to X) from observing his battles and noticing his weaknesses. Shaoran has a flashback to when Sakura first found out about him burning himself resulting in his blindness. Fye sets up their place to be a cafe so he can gather intelligence. That night, Kuro and Shaoran head out and are attacked by Kusanagi and Yuzuriha (second X reference). Hamanaka Ai: ０２２ 僕の右手 (022, My Left Hand): Masahiko injured his right hand in PE and has it bandaged (yet again). The Rin, Ai, and Nakamura all tell him the same thing: "If you have someone else do it for you, it'll feel better."
Cover girl is 下村真理 (Mari Shimonomura). She's 19. Well at least she's a fresh face in the magazine, although Waka Inoue is also featured this week to. For some reason, my volume 11 magazines came quite late, a day after I got volume 13 actually. Hmm... XXXholic: 39: Kimihiro follows the girl and is suddenly attacked by a swarm of little flying goblins who think he's the enemy because he made the girl cry. Kimihiro falls off his bird, but the girl saves him and gives him the "pudding" she took from Doumeki and flies away. The goblins threaten that they'll get him again if he makes her cry. Kimihiro returns to where Yuuko and Doumeki are and return the gift to Doumeki, which revives him. |
