Title: 魔法先生ネギま! 魔帆良学園中等ぶ2−A:3学期 (Magic Teacher Negima! Mahora School Class 2-A: 3rd Semester)
Original Creator: 赤松健 (Ken Akamatsu)
Release Date: 12/22/04
Catalog No.: KICA-671
Rating: 2/4
The third and final Negima drama CD before the start of the anime series. Like the previous ones, it also comes with a bonus DVD with the second episode of the short OVA and a concert.
The batch of 3 songs here don't impress me all that much. Rina Sato's track is decent, but the other two I feel are subpar. The Drops song feels out of place with what I envision Negima to be. It doesn't feel the general mood I get from the series.
The concert DVD is probably the weakest out of the previous 3. It doesn't have the two starts of the show, Akemi Kanda and Ai Nonaka. However, it does have Ho-chan and it was pretty obvious that she was the start of the show. My favorite song from there has to be Rina's song that she sings for the Negima PS2 game. The group singing Konoka's song turned out pretty well too. But the funniest part is noticing all the places where the cast messed up. That and the guy who was caught on DVD *sitting* while everyone was up and dancing. Classic.
I didn't find the story in the audio drama to be interesting.
2. 1時間目 Actress in Trouble: Fuuka and Fumiko try to play a prank on Negi but their plan backfires and they take out most of the drama club members. Natsumi, who's also in the club, says that without the members, they'll have to withdraw from the upcoming theater performance/competition. Feeling bad about it, Negi suggests that available students help out. However, they're only able to round up Fuuka, Fumika, Misora, Chizuru, Natsumi, and Ayaka. Natsumi tries to discourage them by saying that they don't have enough people for the script, but Fuuka offers to rewrite the script (although she doesn't have any experience in writing).
3. 2時間目 True or lie: Natsumi pulls Negi aside and tries to convince him to call the thing off, but Negi's enthusiasm overwhelms her. In the library island, Natsumi finds out that Fuuka and Fumika have been hard at work finding books about scriptwriting. Meanwhile, Sayo is wandering around school, envious of what the living are doing. The group is currently trying to figure out who plays what roles. Natsumi finds Kasumi taking pictures of their faux troupe and objects. She explains that the for the perfomance, it has to be the real club members but she didn't have the courage to tell Negi, et al. Kasumi sympathizes and agrees to rid her film, but then finds Sayo in her photographs and begs to keep them. Few days later, Fuuka and Fumika finish the script with the lead prince being twins (written just for them). Natsumi approves of the script. Natsumi then reveals that she has another member to help out, Kasumi. Later, Sayo asks Eva if she can participate in the drama. Kasumi shows her pictures to her club president, but Sayo isn't the picture anymore.
5. 3時間目 Mysterious children: It's a day before their performance, but it's already bustling at the event location. Fumika and Fuuka take Negi and walk around the place. Sayo flies around the area too and enjoys the festivities. She notices Zazie performing magic. The group then catches Eva walking around, even though she had said that she was extermely busy previously. Later, Natsumi and Chizuru overhear the organizer of the competition talking on the phone and talking about how he knows that the members of Natsumi's drama club aren't the real members. Chizuru then brings Eva into his office to help "convince" him to let them perform. That night, Fuuka passes out in the bath from exhausion.
6. 4時間目 Happy end?: Fuuka is still passed out right before their performance. Negi then brainstorms saying that he has a plan. He assures them that he'll be back before their drama starts. Negi comes back at the very last minute to get a robot Negi to be his twin so that he can play the lead role. At the start of their performance, Sayo drops by to watch. Ayaka finds out that it's Negi playing the princes role and is delighted. However, the stage starts creaking props start floating. Sayo's doings. As the play continues, Ayaka deviates from her lines to get closer with Negi. The play ends with the audience laughing. As Eva talks to Chachamaru about how they did pretty well despite not being club members, the organizer guy overhears her and disqualifies the team. However, the gang still enjoyed practicing and performing.

Title: 少年マガジン (Shonen Magazine) Vol. 24
Issue Date: 5/25/05
Publisher: Kodansha
Pages: 492
Featured girl is Misako Yasuna, at a very old age (in terms of cover girls) of 23. New comic starts this week, Overdrive. I had thought it would be a sports manga, but from the looks of it, it's seems to be a romantic comedy with a cycling background. Much like how Suzuka has a track and field setting. This week's anime research comic features Yuki Matsuoka and Akeno Watanabe from Negima.
As I'm extremely backlogged, summaries will be abbreviated for the next 6 issues (yes, I'm that far behind).
* Summaries abbreviated due to backlog.

Hamanaka Ai: 085濱中弁当 (Hamanaka Lunch): Ai offers to help Masahiko's mom in making his lunch but she unintentionally arranges the food in a semi-erotic fashion.

Negima: 94時間目 激戦! 龍宮VS古菲 (Fierce Battle! Tatsumiya vs. Kufei): Kaede wins her battle. Kufei has trouble fighting Mana until she finally comes up with the strategy to bind her hands.
Suzuka: #60: During a qualifying run, Yamato goes all out and gets first place, in part to try and impress Suzuka. However she responds by telling him he didn't need to try so hard.
Zetsubou-sensei: 3トンネルを抜けると白かった (It Was White When I Come Out of the Tunnel): Nozomu and ultra-positive student Kafuka pay a visit to a student who hasn't been coming to class. He gets her to come, but she still keeps to herself.
